Chailert response is to establish the Elephant Nature Foundation which provides shelter and rescue center in Chiang Mai province of Northern Thailand, where the elephants from all over the country can be in care for a healthy back.

One of Chailert's program that runs from the center is a clinic on the ground for the elephants, called Jumbo Express. With a team of volunteers he had traced some hill tribes in remote villages in the country - the country to perform emergency treatment on an injured animal.

"When I visited the villages, I saw many suffering of elephants, but not just elephants, cats, dogs, chickens and other animals and not enough can be done because the village - the village is very remote and there are no doctors there who can help" he said

Elephant Nature Foundation has been working with various tribes including Karen population to ensure that the elephant is not in exploitation. He said that the tourists are the biggest threats facing elephants in Thailand.

"We do not want to prevent the tourists, it helps the elephant but we need to teach people - people how to raise animals in a more humane, but the problem now is that they see a tourist and did not see anything - anything except money," said Chailert.
