LG LCD Panel Screen Beat the iPhone

As from the launch of the iPhone 4, Retina Display to be one excellent feature on Apple products. But LG this week announced its latest LCD panel, which claimed to have the highest resolution for today's mobile devices.

Quoted from PC World, Tuesday, May 29, 2012, the five-inch panel uses Advanced technology High Performance In-Plane Switching (AH-IPS) and has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels or 440 pixels per inch (ppi).
When compared, Retina Display on iPhone 4S does have a smaller resolution, ie 960 x 640 pixels with 326 ppi.

According to LG, the use of AH-IPS panel display because it provides a larger perspective, richer colors, and also more responsive to the touch.
LG states, when compared with the panel that has a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels as found on the HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S III, and LG Optimus 4X HD, this panel has a 2.2 times higher pixel density.

The panel is expected to be released in the second half of this year, but LG did not provide the information which will use these innovations.

At least the size of this panel suggests that LG believes that the big screen smartphone still favored by consumers. Earlier, this year, LG has also released a phone with five-inch landscape display, the Optimus Vu.
